Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology, Medical Technology, Nursing or healthcare fields (required).
  • Master’s Degree in Public Health is required.
  • 2 years as an RN in acute care (required) or 2 years as MT in clinical microbiology (required) or MPH in related area (required).
  • Certification in Infection Control preferred (not mandatory).

Responsibilities

  • Identify, investigate and monitor healthcare-associated infections.
  • Participate in regulatory activities to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Educate staff on infection prevention practices (PPE, disease processes).
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to prevent hospital infections and outbreak control.
  • Assist with outbreak investigations as needed.
