Job summary

Wellstar Health System in Georgia seeks an Infection Preventionist IP I to support hospital surveillance, rounding, and preventive programs under the Infection Prevention Manager. You will apply NHSN standards, identify infection risks, and contribute to quality initiatives while ensuring patient safety and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Public Health or MPH preferred at minimum.
• Strong knowledge of epidemiology, surveillance and data analysis.
• Certification in infection control preferred upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Surveillance of healthcare-associated infections and epidemiologically significant organisms.
• Collects, analyzes and reports data; inputs NHSN data accurately.
• Educates staff and patients on infection prevention practices.
• Collaborates with Infection Prevention Manager and leadership to maintain compliance.
• Performs regulatory and accreditation activities and risk assessments.
