Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking a Manager of Infection Prevention to organize and lead infection prevention activities across the organization, reporting to the Executive Director. This role oversees surveillance, data reporting, audits, policy development, and collaboration with Nursing and Quality leadership to improve patient safety.

The position requires a Nursing or related degree, CIC certification, and 5+ years in infection prevention with 2+ years in healthcare leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or health-related field; master's preferred.
• CIC - Cert in Infection Control required upon hire.
• Minimum 2 years in healthcare leadership; 5 years infection prevention in acute care.
• Strong leadership, communication, and knowledge of Joint Commission, CMS, NHSN and State regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage Infection Prevention Department and oversee day-to-day operations.
• Lead CMS conditions of participation and accreditation readiness.
• Collaborate with System Infection Prevention and Emergency Preparedness.
• Mentor team members and ensure ongoing competency in infection prevention.
