Job summary

Wellstar seeks a Manager Infection Prevention to organize and lead the infection prevention program across the facility, reporting to the Executive Director of Infection Prevention. You will oversee surveillance, data reporting to NHSN, and compliance with CMS, Joint Commission, OSHA, and state guidelines.

You will mentor staff, collaborate with nursing and quality leadership, and ensure readiness for inspections while advancing patient safety through evidence-based practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Health Science or related field; Master’s preferred.
• CIC certification required; 5+ years infection prevention experience in acute care; 2+ years in a healthcare leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Manage Infection Prevention Department and lead surveillance activities.
• Ensure data submission to NHSN and compliance with CMS conditions of participation.
• Lead audit readiness and regulatory inspections; mentor team members.
• Collaborate with Nursing and Quality leadership to drive safe patient care.
• Develop policies with System Infection Prevention and Emergency Preparedness.
