Job summary

Novant Health is seeking an Infection Preventionist to actively participate in the Infection Prevention Program, supporting prevention activities and best practice measures.

You will maintain infection surveillance, review lab results for identifying HAIs and community infections, and collect data such as device days and patient days. Communicate findings to committees and leadership to drive improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; RN or Medical Technologist degree or comparable degree.
• Minimum of three years of healthcare experience; leadership or IP experience required.
• Infection Control or Epidemiology certification preferred; if not certified, certification within 2.5 years after hire.
• Current RN License if RN with no IP experience; ASCP Board Certification for Med Tech with no IP experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Infection Surveillance Program.
• Review lab results as a case finding mechanism for identifying HAIs and community infections.
• Collect and validate data items such as device days, patient days, device type, etc.
• Communicate infection prevention data to committees and hospital leadership.
• Identify communicable diseases, report to Health Department and initiate control measures as needed.
