Job summary

Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Kingsport, LLC seeks an Infection Preventionist to lead the infection prevention program, ensure CMS/TJC/CDC/OSHA compliance, and collaborate with clinical teams to safeguard patient safety in our inpatient setting.

The role involves analyzing infection data, educating staff, and developing regulatory-compliant standards, with a focus on delivering high-quality care at our Avondale, AZ facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in healthcare or related field is required.
• Minimum 1 year of clinical setting experience in the relevant field is required.
• Post-secondary education in health-related field is recommended.
• CIC Certification is preferred and advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Direct the managerial functions of our Infection Control Program.
• Assure compliance with CMS, TJC, CDC, OSHA, and other federal and state standards and guidelines.
• Analyze hospital infection data to identify trends, clusters, risk factors and variances.
• Manage hospital policies consistent with applicable infection control guidelines and standards.
• Perform surveillance, analysis, and reporting of hospital-acquired infections.
• Educate staff on infection control protocols.
• Serve as a knowledgeable and available resource on infection control practices and policies.
• Develop and maintain infection control standards meeting regulatory guidelines.

Education

Bachelor's degree in healthcare

1 year clinical experience in field of practice

Post-secondary education in health-related field

Qualifications

• Current license or certification as a medical technologist, clinical laboratory scientist, physician, or registered nurse.
• Minimum of a bachelor's degree in a healthcare field.
• 1 year experience in a clinical setting in field of practice.
• Preferred: CIC Certification.
• Training in infection control and/or epidemiology.
• Preferred: experience in hospital infection control practice.
• Completed post-secondary education in a health-related field including but not limited to medicine, nursing, laboratory technology, public health, or biology.
