Job summary

Sanford Health, the Sioux Falls healthcare leader, seeks a dedicated Infection Prevention professional to collaborate with IPC staff and lead educational programs. This role emphasizes surveillance of healthcare-associated infections, data-driven improvement, and adherence to safety standards across the facility.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent), with preference for CIC certification and nursing program accreditation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Associate’s degree with 5 years of applicable experience may be considered instead.
• Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC) or equivalent preferred.
• If degree is in nursing, graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program preferred (CCNE/ACEN/NLN CNEA).
• Minimum of two years of experience in clinical, nursing, healthcare safety, infection prevention, accreditation or healthcare management setting.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Infection Prevention and Control staff to achieve Infection Prevention program goals.
• Evaluate infection control trends, practices, and provide employee education programs.
• Monitor compliance with standards, regulations, and evidence-based practices.
• Assist with data collection/analysis and special projects as assigned.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and willingness to learn new information.
