Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking an Infection Prevention professional to collaborate with infection prevention staff to achieve program goals. The role emphasizes evaluating infection control trends, delivering educational programs for staff, and ensuring compliance through data collection and analysis.

Candidates should have a nursing degree or MPH, CIC certification, and relevant healthcare experience; two years in healthcare are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing or MPH preferred.
• If degree is in nursing, graduate from CCNE, ACEN, or NLN CNEA preferred.
• Two years healthcare experience required.
• CIC certification required if in an Acute setting; plan to sit for exam within 36–48 months, depending on employment status.

Responsibilities

• Evaluation of infection control trends and practices and provide educational programs for employees.
• Possess knowledge of microbiology and epidemiology; monitor health care–associated infections and reportable illness.
• Evaluate and report statistical information; ensure compliance with asepsis, disinfection, sterilization, isolation and disease transmission standards.
• Assist with research needs and special projects; develop data collection and analysis processes.
• Collaborate with leadership to identify improvement opportunities and implement action plans.
