Job summary

Advocate Health is hiring an Infection Preventionist for an on-site, full-time role in Georgia. This position supports Navicent Baldwin and Navicent Rehabilitation Hospital, with participation in the regional on-call rotation.

The role focuses on leading the day-to-day Infection Prevention program across facilities within the continuum of care. Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in nursing or healthcare field, active RN license, and CIC certification within 3 years.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or healthcare related field required.
• Current applicable state license as a Registered Nurse required.
• Certification in Infection Control and Prevention (CIC) preferred, and required within 3 years of employment.
• At least 2 years clinical experience as RN, preferably acute care.

Responsibilities

• abstracts data from patient charts for surveillance and focus studies and generates infection statistics.
• Reports routine and significant epidemiological findings to department leadership and Medical Director.
• Maintains records of infections; analyzes surveillance data and recommends improvements.
• Advocates for patients, visitors and healthcare workers; develops infection prevention policies.
• Assists with investigation of exposures and corrective actions related to construction/moisture management.
• Identifies unsafe infection control practices and designs solutions to issues.
• Acts as a resource on infection prevention; may serve on committees.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or healthcare related field

Registered Nurse license

CIC certification within 3 years of employment

2 years RN clinical experience
