Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare West is seeking an experienced Manager of Infection Prevention to lead the facility's prevention program. You will collaborate with IP leadership to implement evidence-based practices and ensure safety for patients and staff.

The role involves guiding education, monitoring outcomes with data, and supporting regulatory compliance across all buildings and services. A CIC credential and active state license are required within 1 year of hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a healthcare or healthcare administration related field.
• Currently licensed as healthcare professional in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license.
• 2+ years of relevant work experience as an infection preventionist.
• Certified in Infection Control (CIC) within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Builds partnerships across departments to achieve shared goals and integrate infection prevention into broader organizational initiatives.
• Supports leadership, guidance, and education delivery within the facility to develop and sustain a strong infection prevention program.
• Uses data to assess and monitor opportunities for improvement across the facility and supports or leads targeted quality improvement and research initiatives within the scope of infection prevention.
• Provides support for epidemic investigations related to healthcare-associated or community-acquired infections and/or occupational exposures.
• Maintains a working knowledge of rules, regulations, and recommendations from Federal, State, and accrediting agencies as they relate to infection prevention.
