Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking an Infection Preventionist to implement and maintain the Infection Control Program. You will liaise across departments and promote compliance with accreditation, certification and regulatory standards.

The role requires CIC certification and at least two years in acute care or public health, with strong communication and surveillance skills. On-call responsibilities and travel within the Houston area may apply.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in acute care or public health.
• Experience in infection control or public health preferred.
• CIC certification required or must obtain within 3 years if not currently certified.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate investigation and follow-up of exposures to communicable diseases.
• Maintain surveillance programs for HAIs and environmental events.
• Present instructional material for orientations and continuing education in infection prevention.
• Report infection data to national databases and health authorities.
• Support regulatory compliance and survey readiness.
