Qualifications

• B.S. degree in nursing, microbiology, public health, medical technology, health care administration or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in clinical/patient care services or relevant health care position.
• Familiar with software technologies (e.g. Excel, MS Word, NHSN).
• Analytical, problem solving, collaboration, and strong communication skills.
• CIC certification in infection control preferred or must obtain within 5 years of starting practice.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements the organizational infection prevention program in collaboration with leadership.
• Performs surveillance of hospital-acquired infections using NHSN definitions.
• Records and reports communicable diseases per federal, state, and local requirements.
• Educates team members and patients on infection prevention practices and policies.
• Participates in regulatory compliance activities and quality improvement initiatives.
