Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health seeks qualified professionals in infection prevention to support patient safety and quality of care. Candidates should have formal training in nursing or related field, be certified or eligible, and complete infection control training.

The role requires multidisciplinary collaboration, clinical care, and ongoing CE, with NJ RN license and Bachelor's in Nursing preferred.

Qualifications

• Training by APIC, CDC, SHEA or CBIC/NADONA or 5 yrs experience in Infection Control.
• Current with all Continuing Education (CE) requirements.
• Perform clinical care professionally.
• Serve as patient advocate and role model to other Team Members.
• Ability to effectively work on a multidisciplinary team.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• Have primary professional training in nursing, medical technology, microbiology, epidemiology, or another related field;
• Be qualified by education, training, experience or certification
• Have completed specialized training in infection prevention and control.

• Complete training by APIC, CDC, SHEA or other state approved sources or be certified by CBIC or NADONA or have 5 yrs. experience in Infection Control.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

• Computer skills, including Microsoft Office
• Current and valid Nursing License in the State of New Jersey
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
• Previous Infection Control/Prevention experience is a plus
• Two (2) years of nursing experience

Licenses and Certifications Required:

• NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License or Licensed Practical Nurse.
• An individual certified by the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology or meets the requirements under N.J.A.C. 8:39-20.2 or A physician who has completed an infectious disease fellowship or A healthcare professional licensed and in good standing by the State of New Jersey
