Job summary

Excelcare at Egg Harbor is seeking an Infection Prevention & Staff Education Coordinator to safeguard residents, patients, and staff by leading infection prevention protocols and mentoring team members. This role blends clinical expertise with a passion for teaching to foster a culture of excellence in infection control.

The position focuses on developing and implementing programs aligned with CMS, CDC, and state regulations; training staff on infection prevention practices; analyzing

Qualifications

• RN or LPN license in good standing (required).
• Experience in infection prevention and staff education, preferably in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting.
• Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to make training engaging.
• CIC certification a plus, or willingness to obtain.
• Proactive, detail-oriented mindset with a passion for teaching and mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor infection prevention and control programs in line with CMS, CDC, and state regulations
• Conduct staff education and training on infection control best practices, new hire orientation, and ongoing in-services
• Track and analyze infection surveillance data, identifying trends and leading quality improvement initiatives
• Partner with clinical leadership to ensure compliance and survey readiness
• Serve as a mentor and resource for staff at every level
