Job summary

RegalCare at Holyoke is seeking a Staff Development/Infection Control Nurse to uphold patient safety and staff growth. You will monitor care quality, develop infection control policies, and lead surveillance for outbreaks.

You will educate colleagues across departments, participate in quality initiatives, and maintain regulatory relationships to ensure compliance. Experience in long-term or acute care preferred; strong communication and confidentiality are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in long-term care or acute care settings preferred.
• Strong knowledge of infection control principles and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and evaluate the quality of care provided to patients, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
• Develop and implement infection control strategies to prevent the spread of infections, including developing and maintaining infection control policies and procedures.
• Conduct infection control surveillance, investigating and reporting outbreaks, and developing contingency plans for infection control emergencies.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure that all staff are educated and trained on infection control practices and procedures.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
• Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies, managed care organizations, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
• Staff Development/ Infection Control Nurse will work closely with the nursing team to ensure that all staff receive the necessary training and support to perform at their highest level.
