Job summary

St. Joseph's Living Center is seeking an RN Infection Control Nurse/Staff Development Coordinator to lead the facility's infection prevention program and oversee staff education.

The role includes surveillance, audits, data analysis, and quality improvement initiatives to ensure high standards of patient safety. The position requires an active CT RN license, 2+ years in infection prevention and regulatory compliance, and CPR/BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered CT RN license or Compact RN.
• 2+ years experience in infection prevention and control, staff development, and regulatory compliance with CMS/CDC/OSHA and DPH standards preferred.
• ICP certification preferred.
• Current CPR certifications, including BLS.
• RN must communicate fluently in English, verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Lead infection prevention and control program through surveillance, audits, data analysis, and quality improvement.
• Ensure compliance with infection control regulations by monitoring practices, investigating outbreaks, and implementing corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver staff education, orientation, and ongoing clinical training to support regulatory compliance and quality care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to identify training needs, promote best practices, and improve resident outcomes.
• Maintain infection control records, monitor trends, and serve as a clinical resource for infection prevention and staff development.
