Job summary

ScionHealth, in San Diego, seeks an Infection Control Nurse to lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of infection prevention policies across all departments. You will run surveillance for hospital-acquired infections and coordinate with physicians and staff to control outbreaks.

The role requires a nursing degree, current RN license, and experience in infection control; a master’s in a clinical specialty is preferred. Excellent English, attendance, and travel considerations apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is required.
• Master’s degree in a clinical specialty is preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may substitute for education requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and monitors infection control policies and procedures for all departments.
• Implements a surveillance system for hospital-acquired and community infections.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Provides updates on policy changes to physicians and staff.
• Investigates outbreaks or clusters of infections.
• Analyzes bacteriology reports and infection statistics to guide control measures.
• Participates in Infection Control Committees.
• Collaborates with local and state health departments for reporting of communicable diseases.
• Educates staff and patients on infection control practices.
