Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Director of Infection Control for the Rahway campus to lead the hospital’s infection prevention program. You will oversee surveillance, policy development, staff training, and collaboration with departments to ensure compliance with Joint Commission, OSHA, and CDC standards.

Responsibilities include budgeting, committee coordination, and guiding performance improvement initiatives to reduce healthcare-associated infections while maintaining quality patient care in

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Public Health, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Certification in Infection Prevention (CIC) required.
• 5–10 years of clinical experience in an acute care facility, and/or two years in infection control.
• Supervisory experience desirable.
• Knowledge of OSHA, APIC, and CDC regulations and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Administer the infection prevention program and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate hospital-wide infection prevention activities with strategic initiatives.
• Lead the infection prevention committee and annual risk assessment.
• Train IP staff in hospital epidemiology and surveillance.
• Develop policies to meet Joint Commission, OSHA, NJDOH, and CDC requirements.
• Collaborate with Employee Health on exposure reporting and influenza immunization.
• Prepare and approve department budget and manage IP team.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Public Health, or related field; Master’s degree preferred
