Job summary

The DC Army National Guard seeks Infantry Soldiers who will be the backbone of ground operations, capable of taking or holding ground using advanced tactics. You will train, participate in reconnaissance, and operate weapons and communications gear in various conditions.

Training lasts 14 weeks plus Advanced Individual Training; you’ll earn a regular paycheck and qualify for tuition assistance, with benefits including retirement for part-time service and health care options.

Qualifications

• Military enlistment in the Army National Guard.
• Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or a GED.
• Must be between the ages of 17 and 35.

Responsibilities

• Assist in reconnaissance operations.
• Employ, fire, and recover anti-personnel and anti-tank mines.
• Operate weapon systems under various conditions, including night vision sights.
• Operate and maintain communications equipment.
• Perform as a member of a fire team during training and combat missions.
• Process prisoners of war and captured documents.
• Aid in the mobilization of vehicles, troops, and weaponry.
• Use, maintain, and store combat weapons.
