Job summary

The DC Army National Guard seeks Infantry Soldiers to participate in reconnaissance, engage targets, and operate combat weapons in diverse environments. You will train with 14 weeks of Basic Training followed by Advanced Individual Training, and you’ll learn tactics, weapons handling, and teamwork.

You’ll earn a regular paycheck during drill weekends, qualify for tuition assistance, and begin retirement benefits from part-time service.

Qualifications

• Physical and mental fitness are essential for infantry duties.
• Teamwork and reliability are required in field operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in reconnaissance operations.
• Employ, fire, and recover anti-personnel and anti-tank mines.
• Operate weapon systems under various conditions, including night vision sights.
• Operate and maintain communications equipment.
• Perform as a member of a fire team during training and missions.
• Process prisoners of war and captured documents.
