Job summary

DC Army National Guard seeks Infantry Soldiers to support reconnaissance, weapons handling, and team-based combat missions. You will operate and maintain communications and weapon systems, participate in training, and contribute to mission readiness for national defense.

In this role, you will receive paid training, a monthly paycheck, and benefits such as tuition assistance, health care, and retirement programs during part-time service.

Qualifications

• Military enlistment in the Army National Guard.
• Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or a GED certificate.
• Must be between the ages of 17 and 35.
• Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards.
• Must meet citizenship requirements (see NATIONALGUARD.com for details).

Responsibilities

• Assist in reconnaissance operations.
• Operate weapon systems under various conditions, including night vision sights.
• Operate and maintain communications equipment.
• Perform as a member of a fire team during training and combat missions.
• Process prisoners of war and captured documents.
• Aid in the mobilization of vehicles, troops, and weaponry.
