Job summary

United Way Miami seeks an Infant Toddler Teacher to provide a safe, nurturing environment for children 0–36 months, fostering social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth in a high-quality program in the Miami Gardens area.

The role emphasizes Visible Thinking, Multiple Intelligence, Dual Language, inclusion, and Early Literacy strategies, with supervision designed to support ongoing development and reflective practice. EEO and drug-free workplace policy apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and 45 DCF hours.
• Flexibility, teamwork, and inclusive awareness.
• Strong communication and collaboration with families.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily observations of children and create daily experience plans based on prior experiences.
• Encourage and model appropriate behavior and expectations.
• Ask follow-up questions to help children build vocabulary and understanding.
• In collaboration with others, choose materials and activities that support learning.
• Observe and document each child’s health, behavior, growth and development.
• Supervise eight children, following safety and health rules.
• Keep the environment safe, clean, organized, and accessible.
• Document incidents and accidents as required.
