Job summary

Tri-County Community Action Agency is seeking a Part-Time Substitute in Philadelphia to supervise assigned classrooms and ensure Head Start standards compliance. Duties include planning developmentally appropriate activities, observing and documenting child progress, and supporting special needs services as directed by staff.

The role requires a CDA or higher in early childhood, 4–12 months of classroom experience, and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

Requires minimum Child Development Associate (CDA) or higher (associate, bachelor's or P-3 in early childhood for higher pay).
4 to 12 months of early childhood classroom experience recommended.

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate assigned classroom in line with Head Start standards.
Plan developmentally appropriate activities aligned with Head Start and licensing requirements.
Observe, assess and document child growth and maintain accurate records.
Assist in providing services for children with special needs as directed.
Ensure safety and report health or safety concerns to supervisor.
Prepare records and reports for the substitute role and classroom activities.
Engage parents, conduct parent/teacher conferences, and involve Parent Committee as needed.
Attend training sessions and provide on-site support to staff.
