Tri Valley Opportunity Council, Inc. seeks a Teacher (Sub) to assist classroom staff in delivering a developmentally appropriate program for preschool children in a safe, caring environment.

Substitutes cover for absent teachers and help recruit potential parents by sharing information about services offered to enrolled children and families. The role supports daily activities, classroom management, and routines, while maintaining positive relationships with parents and upholding health, safety

Qualifications

• CDA credential with 1560 hours of experience in a licensed early childhood setting or public school system.
• AA degree in ECE/Child Development with 12 credits of coursework and 1040 hours experience.
• BA/BS degree in ECE/Child Development with 12 credits of coursework and 1040 hours experience.
• MA/MS degree in ECE/Child Development with 12 credits of coursework and 1040 hours experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom staff with daily activities and classroom management.
• Lead activities as requested by teachers or center leadership.
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with parents and maintain professional boundaries.
• Know medical conditions/needs of children and respond appropriately.
• Discuss communications with parents in line with Data Privacy policies.
• Tend to children's hygiene, feeding, and changing as needed.
• Assume other duties as requested by staff or leadership.

Education

CDA credential
