Job summary

Eagle’s Wing Child Care and Education Programs on the UW-Madison campus seeks an Infant/Toddler Assistant Teacher to join a diverse teaching team providing high-quality early childhood education. The center emphasizes play-based, child-initiated learning and a multicultural, inclusive environment.

Benefits include generous paid time off and retirement plans. Primary schedule is 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, with scheduling determined at offer.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year working in full-day play-based Early Childhood Education environments and completion of the Early Childhood Courses "Introduction to the Child Care Profession" and "Fundamentals of Infant and Toddler Care"
  • Successful completion of Associate’s Degree or higher, in Early Childhood Education
  • Preferred: Training in High Scope, Pyramid Model and/or Conscious Discipline; bilingual English/Spanish

Responsibilities

  • Assists with basic technical and administrative classroom support
  • Maintains the safety and physical well-being of children in a designated classroom
  • Assists with the planning and facilitation of classroom programming and classroom coordination and organization according to established curriculums
  • Updates and organizes individualized and developmental educational plans for children
  • Documents effective communication with internal and external stakeholders to relay pertinent information and provide updates of child activities per established guidelines and regulations
