Job summary

Porter-Leath is seeking an Early Head Start Teacher to serve as the primary caregiver for one group of children in our Memphis facility. The role emphasizes developmentally appropriate activities and close collaboration with families and staff to support health, education, and family engagement.

The ideal candidate has an Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or CDA with Infant Toddler Endorsement, and at least 2 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Early Childhood Education or CDA with Infant Toddler Endorsement; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Two (2) years of relevant work experience with infants/toddlers (0-3). CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Be the primary caregiver for one group of children in the Early Head Start facility.
• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities for one classroom.
• Work with staff to provide health, education and support services to children and families.
• Maintain attendance, meal counts and reports; supervise meals per CACFP requirements.
• Conduct parent conferences and home visits; support and mentor families.
