Job summary

Porter-Leath in Memphis seeks a Teacher to serve as the primary caregiver for one Head Start classroom, under the Site Manager. You will implement developmentally appropriate activities, monitor progress, and support diverse learners in a nurturing environment.

Responsibilities include aligning with Head Start standards, conducting home visits, and maintaining accurate records while collaborating with families and staff to promote student readiness and well-being.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience with preschool age (3-5).
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Experience working in a non-profit is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary caregiver duties for one group of children in Head Start.
• Plan daily enrichment and care activities per Head Start and Porter-Leath standards.
• Implement Creative Curriculum and Head Start ELOF with ongoing assessment.
• Maintain accurate attendance, meals, and educational records for audits.
