Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience with preschool age (3-5).
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Experience in a nonprofit environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary caregiver for one group of children, including those with special needs.
• Plan daily enrichment and care activities in line with Head Start and Porter-Leath standards.
• Implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and use assessments to individualize instruction.
• Provide instructional leadership and model best practices in early childhood education.
• Monitor compliance with federal standards and state licensing regulations.
• Collaborate with staff to maintain a positive environment for children and families.
• Maintain accurate attendance, meal counts, and educational records for audits.
• Support family engagement and conduct coordinated home visits aligned with ELOF.
