Job summary

Oregon Child Development Coalition (OCDC) is a statewide nonprofit delivering Head Start and early learning programs across Oregon, seeking an instructional assistant to support infant/toddler classrooms. You will help with daily routines, activities, and supervision to maintain safe, healthy environments.

Position emphasizes teamwork with teaching staff, family communication, and adherence to grant standards and licensing requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Infant-toddler CDA certificate or college coursework in early childhood development.
• Meets licensing and program requirements for infant/toddler care.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching staff to provide a safe, healthy, and nurturing classroom environment.
• Supervise infants and toddlers on playgrounds and in classrooms using positive guidance.
• Assist with daily routines including diapering, toileting, dressing, and mealtimes.
• Help implement daily activities such as free play, story time, and centers.
• Maintain cleanliness of classrooms, toys, and supplies; light cleaning and laundry.
• Communicate respectfully with children, families, and staff.
• Assist with dual language instruction, as applicable.
• Provide classroom coverage to maintain child-to-teacher ratios during breaks.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
