Oregon Child Development Coalition, Inc. is seeking a Preschool Instructional Assistant to support teaching staff in our preschool classrooms.

You will help maintain a safe, healthy environment, supervise children, assist with daily routines, and support classroom activities including story time and learning centers. Roles include coverage to maintain child-to-teacher ratios during breaks and times of short absences.

Qualifications

• No prior education or experience is required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching staff in maintaining a safe, healthy, and nurturing preschool classroom environment.
• Supervise preschool-age children in classrooms and on playgrounds using positive guidance techniques.
• Assist with daily routines, including toileting, dressing, meals, and transitions to and from the classroom.
• Help implement daily classroom activities such as free play, story time, and learning centers.
• Maintain classroom cleanliness, including disinfecting toys and furniture and replenishing supplies.
• Communicate respectfully and positively with children, families, and staff.
• Support dual language classroom activities, as applicable.
• Assist with basic record keeping and classroom documentation as assigned.
• Provide classroom coverage to maintain child-to-teacher ratios during staff breaks or short absences.
