Montessori Children's Community in Brookfield is seeking an experienced Infant Lead Teacher to create a safe, nurturing environment and developmentally appropriate curriculum for infants. You will foster trust and belonging, model language, and support families while implementing Montessori-inspired activities.

The role requires prior infant lead teaching experience, DFCS compliance, and willingness to pursue Montessori training.

Qualifications

• Experience as an infant lead teacher.
• Must meet DFCS requirements for a lead teacher.
• Minimum of 12 credit hours in Early Childhood Education or CDA.
• Willingness to attend Montessori training courses.
• Background check and fingerprinting (required).
• CPR/First Aid training.

Responsibilities

• Develops positive relationships with all children and families.
• Interacts with and responds to infants in a way that promotes feelings of trust, security, and a sense of belonging.
• Implements individualized feeding plans, taking into account preferences and eating styles; shares family‑style meals.
• Ensures children treat each other gently, respecting their curiosity about each other.
• Models language with children; talking, singing, and reading frequently.
• Cares for the child's personal hygiene, including diaper changing, cleaning, feeding, and changing soiled or wet clothes.
• Organizes daily schedule and activities promoting curiosity, independence, problem‑solving, and creativity.
• Leads the teaching team and delegates as appropriate to assistant teachers, subs, and/or interns.
