Job summary

Guidepost Montessori is seeking a Lead Infant Guide in our Deerfield, IL location to lead a mixed-age infant classroom in a Montessori environment designed to support each child’s natural development.

You will prepare the classroom, observe each child, and provide individualized care while partnering with families to foster independence, curiosity, and confidence from the earliest months.

Qualifications

• Interest in pursuing fully sponsored Montessori certification.
• Experience with 0–3-year-olds in a group care setting.
• Alignment with child-led educational philosophies (Montessori, Reggio Emilia, or similar).
• Required ECE or Child Development credits.
• Bachelor’s degree in a child-related field.

Responsibilities

• Observe and support each child’s development.
• Respect each child’s natural rhythms for sleep, meals, and toileting.
• Prepare an orderly, inviting Montessori environment.
• Encourage independence in care activities.
• Build warm relationships with children and families.
• Partner with parents to support growth and development.
• Lead and collaborate with classroom team members.
