Job summary

Wonderspring is seeking an Infant Assistant Teacher to support the Lead Teacher in our Infant Classroom at the New Market West Center. The role involves assisting with lesson plans, supervising children, and helping maintain a nurturing, relationship-based learning environment.

Qualified applicants will have a High School Diploma or GED and 2+ years of experience with infants/toddlers. Eligible staff receive benefits including insurance, retirement options, and childcare tuition discounts.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with children, infants and toddlers preferred.
• Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality.
• Must obtain all required clearances and complete TB health assessment prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Support the Lead Teacher in implementing daily lesson plans, learning activities, and classroom routines.
• Supervise children in your care.
• Assume the lead teacher's classroom responsibilities in their absence.
• Assist with all tasks associated with the daily schedule.
• Teach children how to use acceptable alternatives to challenging behavior using approaches like FLIP IT and Second Step.
• Observe, document, and celebrate each child’s progress and share victories with parents.

Pay: $15.00 -18.04 per hour

About the Position

Wonderspring, a nonprofit early childhood education organization, is seeking a dedicated team member to support our Lead Teacher at our New Market West Center in the Infant Classroom.

About the Role

This role provides support to a Lead Teacher in an Infant Classroom. You will work together to create a nurturing, relationship-based classroom environment.

• Support the Lead Teacher in implementing daily lesson plans, learning activities, and classroom routines.
• Supervise children in your care
• Assume the lead teacher's classroom responsibilities in their absence.
• Assist with all tasks associated with the daily schedule
• Teach children how to use acceptable alternatives to challenging behavior to reduce conflict by using provide guidance approaches such as FLIP IT and Second Step.
• Observe, document, and celebrate each child’s progress, sharing their victories (big and small) with proud parents.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED
• 2+ years of experience working with children, infants and toddlers preferred
• Strong teamwork and flexibility
• Ability to keep information private
• Basic knowledge of childcare rules
• Must obtain all required clearances and complete a Health Assessment with TB screening prior to employment.
