Job summary

Calvert County Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Teacher for the Infant-3 program for the 2026-2027 school year in Maryland. Under the direction of the principal and supervisor of special education, you will plan and provide specially designed instruction, develop IEPs, and collaborate with staff to meet diverse student needs.

The role requires eligibility for Maryland certification, knowledge of IEP processes, and the ability to design evidence-based, individualized instruction

Qualifications

• Must hold or be eligible for Maryland certification.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and staff.
• Knowledge of IEP processes and evaluation procedures.
• Ability to design and deliver IEP-based instruction.
• Experience with adaptive instruction for students with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Plans and provides specially designed instruction for students with disabilities.
• Develops Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to meet student needs.
• Creates classroom environment that supports student voice and safety.
• Collaborates with general education staff to align instruction with curricula.
• Maintains records and follows required procedures for IEPs.
• Monitors student progress and adjusts instruction accordingly.
