Job summary

Calvert County Public Schools seeks a dedicated Special Education teacher to design and deliver specially designed instruction for students with disabilities, developing IEPs to address academic, behavioral and social needs.

The teacher will monitor progress, communicate with families and collaborate with staff to create inclusive learning experiences while maintaining accurate records and upholding school safety and professional standards.

Qualifications

• Maryland certificate eligibility required for teaching in state public schools.
• Experience with IEP development and implementation.
• Knowledge of Maryland College and Career Ready Standards.

Responsibilities

• Plans and provides specially designed instruction for students with disabilities.
• Develops IEPS to meet academic, behavioral, social and emotional needs.
• Monitors student progress and maintains required records.
• Collaborates with parents, staff and community to support student success.
• Maintains a safe, supportive classroom environment and adheres to school procedures.
