Job summary

Calvert County Public Schools seeks a Special Education Teacher for grades 1-8 for the 2026-2027 school year. Under supervision of the principal and supervisor of special education, you will design and deliver individualized instruction and IEPs in collaboration with general educators and specialists.

You will monitor student progress, maintain records, communicate with families, and adapt materials to diverse learners while upholding regulatory requirements and school policies.

Qualifications

• Maryland teaching certificate required.
• Experience with IEP processes and documentation.
• Ability to design and implement individualized instruction.

Responsibilities

• Plans and provides specially designed instruction and services for students with disabilities.
• Develops and implements IEPs to address academic, behavioral, social, and emotional needs.
• Communicates with students, parents, staff and community; collaborates with general education and specialists.
• Maintains accurate records and ensures compliance with regulations and procedures.
• Monitors student progress and adjusts instruction based on data and IEP goals.
• Participates in staff meetings, professional development, and required trainings.
