Job summary

The Hanover Insurance Group in Massachusetts seeks an Industry Solutions Consultant to support industry-focused underwriting strategies by creating and maintaining underwriting resources, industry intelligence, and educational content. This role partners with the Middle Market underwriting team to build expertise, improve consistency, and drive portfolio growth across assigned industries.

Qualifications

• Commercial insurance underwriting experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business.
• 5+ years of insurance, underwriting, industry research, consulting, or related experience.
• Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience developing business content, training materials, presentations, or reference resources.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Capable of internal networking and developing cross-functional partnerships to influence outcomes.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, SharePoint and Teams.

Responsibilities

• Industry Knowledge & Content Development for underwriting teams.
• Build, maintain, and enhance Industry Hubs for assigned industries.
• Develop and update underwriting guidelines, industry insights, risk profiles, and reference materials.
• Create foundational content, tools, and resources that support underwriting decisions.
• Ensure industry materials reflect emerging trends, market conditions, and underwriting priorities.
• Conduct ongoing industry research to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
• Support development and execution of industry strategies through analysis and recommendations.
• Assist with portfolio reviews by identifying areas for further evaluation and action.
