Job summary

SPX Technologies in Springfield, MO is seeking an experienced Welder to operate welding and manufacturing equipment to build high quality parts and subassemblies across multiple production lines. A $2,000 sign-on bonus is offered (terms apply).

The role requires 3+ years of welding experience, a GED or high school diploma, and the ability to read drawings, follow instructions, and work both independently and in teams while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3+ years welding experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with sheet metal fabrication, punching, shearing, cutting, forming, and assembly.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence; present information clearly.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic in all units of measure.

Responsibilities

• Operate an overhead crane to maneuver parts safely into place.
• Adjust welding leads, current, feed, and gas to proper weld configurations.
• Cut and form metal parts and components using hand tools, torch or welding equipment.
• Weld components in flat, vertical or overhead positions.
• Read measuring devices accurately.
• Assemble and weld various metal parts together.
• Position material/parts to be welded correctly.
• Train and work in various areas of production as needed.
• Follow verbal and written work instructions and reading drawings.
• Maintain quality standards with attention to detail.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment; comply with procedures and regulations.
• Work in both team and individual settings.
