Job summary

Körber is seeking a software professional to develop a machine UI for packaging machinery, using AlphaGate A-VIS and configuring PLC communications. The role includes customizing operator interfaces for customer needs and debugging for FAT, while collaborating with an automation programmer and interacting with customers in a professional manner.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in CS/SE/CE/EE or equivalent required.
• Experience programming operator/UI interfaces.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in design patterns, MVC, and debugging.
• Knowledge of Java, Swing UI, and Apache Ant preferred.
• Familiarity with Git, Jira, and NetBeans IDE is a plus.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Demonstrates strong imagination and creativity.
• Able to develop new concepts and standards.
• Able to plan 3–6 months ahead.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Willing to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Develop a machine UI to control packaging machinery per customer specs.
• Design UIs using AlphaGate A-VIS.
• Configure communication with PLC and plant software.
• Customize operator interface to meet customer needs.
• Debug and prepare the UI for FAT.
• Communicate with customers professionally.
• Suggest design improvements throughout the project.
• Integrate third-party equipment into the machine/UI.
• Collaborate with the automation programmer to troubleshoot.
• Review manuals for accuracy to reduce service calls.
• Travel to customer plants or provide remote support.
