Job summary

Körber Pharma Packaging AG in Fargo, ND is seeking a UI software engineer to develop a machine UI for packaging machinery, aligning with customer specs using creativity and innovation. You'll design UIs with AlphaGate A-VIS visualization software, configure PLC communications, customize operator interfaces, and support FAT testing while collaborating with customers and the project team.

Qualifications

• BS degree in CS/SE/CE/EE or equivalent.
• Experience programming operator or user interfaces.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in design patterns and MVC architecture; strong debugging skills.
• Strong knowledge of Java, Swing UI; Apache Ant preferred.
• Familiar with Git, Jira, and NetBeans IDE.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Develop a machine UI to control packaging machinery within a set timeframe.
• Design machine UIs using AlphaGate A-VIS visualization software.
• Configure communication with PLC and plant-level software.
• Customize operator interfaces to meet customer needs.
• Debug and prepare UI for FAT and acceptance testing.
• Interact with customers in a professional manner.
• Suggest design improvements throughout the project lifecycle.
• Integrate third-party equipment into machine/UI functions.
• Collaborate with automation programmers to troubleshoot issues.
• Review operating manuals to ensure accuracy and reduce service calls.
• Travel to customer sites or provide remote service up to 10% of the year.
