Job summary

Equipment Depot, Inc. seeks a skilled technician to repair electric, diesel, and gasoline industrial trucks and construction equipment. You will diagnose malfunctions by listening to operation and inspecting components, then perform repairs and provide accurate estimates.

You will document work orders with model/serial information, ensure safety and professionalism, and coordinate with service management to schedule maintenance. Strong communication with customers is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1-3 months related experience or training; or combination of education and experience.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions; write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively to groups.
• Math: able to compute rates, ratios, and percent.
• Reasoning: apply common sense to instructions and handle problems with several variables.

Responsibilities

• Read work orders and observe/listen to truck in operation to diagnose malfunction.
• Offer solutions to meet customer specifications and provide estimates.
• Perform mechanical repairs after inspection and analysis.
• Record complete repair description on work orders with model, serial number, and hour meter reading.
• Obtain customer signature and communicate repair needs.
• Inspect protective guards and safety devices and adjust as needed.
• Lubricate moving parts and test drive repaired trucks to verify conformance.
• Represent Equipment Depot to customers and maintain professional appearance of the van.
• Track and schedule routine maintenance with operations/service manager.
• Return paperwork daily and submit time cards by 9:00 a.m.
