Job summary

Equipment Depot, Inc. is seeking a field service technician to diagnose and repair electric, diesel, and gasoline trucks and equipment. You will read work orders, inspect machines, provide repair estimates, and communicate with customers about needs and completed work.

You will record repair details, ensure safety devices are in place, and validate repairs by test driving equipment. The role requires a valid license, basic math, and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions with

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 months related experience or training.
• Knowledge of internet software.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
• Basic arithmetic including rate, ratio and percent; interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to apply common sense and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Read work orders and listen to trucks in operation to diagnose problems.
• Offer solutions and provide estimates when appropriate.
• Perform mechanical repairs after inspection and analysis of breakdowns.
• Record complete repair descriptions on work orders with model and serial numbers.
• Obtain customer signatures and communicate repair needs or completed work.
• Check guards, bolts and safety devices; make necessary adjustments.
• Lubricate moving parts and test repaired trucks for conformance.
• Represent Equipment Depot to customers and maintain a professional image of self and van.
• Coordinate with operations or service manager for routine maintenance or issues.
• Return paperwork daily to field service coordinator (time cards, receipts, invoices).
• Submit time cards by 9:00 a.m. daily.
