Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Structural Designer II in Addison, TX to create detailed 3D CAD models and fabrication drawings for heavy industrial equipment, skids, and ducting, ensuring designs meet high-temperature and load requirements.

You will collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams, incorporate thermal expansion and process constraints, and deliver BOMs and fabrication-ready drawings for procurement and installation.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of industrial structural or mechanical design experience.
• Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor for 3D modeling and drawings.
• Experience designing heavy industrial equipment.
• Strong background with structural steel members and connections.
• Ability to create fabrication-ready drawings and BOMs.
• Knowledge of welding practices and shop constraints.
• Valid driver's license and travel <5%.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 3D CAD models, fabrication drawings, and material take-offs for heavy industrial equipment, equipment skids, and ducting systems.
• Design hot exhaust and flue gas ducting with casings, transitions, and supports.
• Develop structural layouts using typical industrial structural members.
• Produce drawings for customer review, procurement, shop fabrication, and installation.
• Incorporate thermal expansion, operating temperature, and mechanical loading into designs.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Project Management, Sales, and manufacturing teams.
• Review inputs for completeness and identify missing information or discrepancies.
