Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Structural Designer in Addison, TX to create 3D models and fabrication drawings for heavy industrial equipment and ducting systems. You will work closely with engineers and fabrication teams on complex skid frames, ducting, and connections.

Responsibilities include developing drawings for procurement, coordinating interfaces with SCRs and baghouses, and ensuring designs meet load and thermal requirements. Requires Autodesk Inventor proficiency and 3+ years in industrial design.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in CAD, drafting, or engineering technology.
• 3+ years of industrial structural or mechanical design experience.
• Hands-on Autodesk Inventor experience creating 3D assemblies and fabrication-ready drawings.
• Experience designing or detailing heavy industrial equipment, structural frames, ductwork, or similar assemblies.
• Understanding of how typical structural members connect (beam-to-column/beam-to-beam).
• Ability to perform geometric and material-quantity calculations.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 3D models, fabrication drawings, and material take-offs for heavy industrial equipment, structural supports, and ducting systems.
• Design and detail hot exhaust and flue-gas ducting components, including casings and transitions.
• Detail structural members and their connections (beams, columns, braces, plates) and joints (welded or bolted).
• Develop drawings for customer review, material procurement, and fabrication.
• Coordinate layouts with equipment like SCR reactors, baghouses, ESPs, dampers, and expansion joints.
• Incorporate mechanical loading, operating temperatures, and thermal expansion with guidance from engineers.
• Review project specs and inputs, identify missing info or conflicts.
• Perform geometric and material calculations (lengths, areas, volumes, weights, angles).
• Revise models/drawings based on reviews and feedback.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Project Management, Sales, and fabrication teams.
• Maintain accurate drawings and project files per document-control procedures.
