Job summary

M.W. Watermark is seeking a Sewing Machine Operator II for our Michigan factory. You will set up and run industrial sewing machines, sewing materials to production specs while monitoring quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities include routine machine maintenance, assisting with non-sewing tasks, applying latex, rope work, and operating grommet machines. You will also document job progress in our ERP system and follow all safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required, which are normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, and understand instruction detail written and communicated in English.
• Prior industrial sewing experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds required.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate industrial sewing machines, including barrel necks, ropes, and Velcro.
• Sew to production samples, follow product guides, and inspect stitches for defects.
• Inspect finished product for quality control.
• Perform routine machine maintenance.
• Apply latex to cloths per specifications; cut and fuse ropes; operate small and large grommet machines.
• Update ERP system with job information (punch in and out of jobs accurately).
• Follow safety rules and maintain housekeeping standards; participate in continuous improvement.
• Other duties as assigned.
