Tri-State Overhead Crane continues to grow our customer base and is looking for strong service technicians to join our team! We are a crane and material handling equipment fabrication and service company. We've been independently owned for over 60+ years, based in the Midwest, with customers from coast to coast. This role will be based out of our Kansas City location.

Here's a summary of what the Service Technician will do:

The Service Technician will perform electrical and mechanical diagnostics, provide repairs, conduct quality inspections, and perform preventative maintenance on overhead cranes, hoists, and related parts. They will spend most of their time on customer sites, representing the company.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Troubleshoot and repair overhead cranes, crane controls, hoists, and drives.
• Inspect overhead industrial cranes and hoists.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Use man lifts properly during service.
• Evaluate customer needs and recommend repairs.
• Communicate with management and sales about customer needs.
• Track time per job and report product concerns.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

CORE SKILLS:

• Read and understand work instructions, manuals, and schematics.
• Execute fabrication drawings accurately.
• Manage time effectively and report per job.
• Maintain and troubleshoot equipment properly.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office or related software for logs and records.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2-4 years' experience as a technician in an industrial setting.
• Trade school training in mechanical and electrical skills preferred.
• Familiarity with cranes and hoists is a plus, but not required.
• Welding skills are a benefit.
• Ability to work overtime.
• Positive attendance record.
