Job summary

Wigen Water Technologies is seeking an Experienced Eastern Sales Manager – Municipal to drive growth in the municipal water market and lead strategic initiatives across the region.

You will build relationships with engineers and end users, manage capital equipment projects from proposal through close, and collaborate with engineering and legal teams to ensure successful contracts. This role emphasizes technical selling, bid awareness, and field collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or ten years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience selling membrane or filtration equipment is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and contracts.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for proposals and presentations.

Responsibilities

  • Identify new municipal opportunities in the Eastern region and maintain current customers.
  • Manage annual sales targets and project margins.
  • Understand bidding processes for end users and general contractors.
  • Develop understanding of Wigen products to discuss with engineers and customers.
  • Prepare proposals and price capital equipment for RFPs and bids.
  • Negotiate and close deals; monitor competition and market pricing.
  • Travel up to 50% to visit plants, offices, and customers.

About this Role:

    Wigen Water Technologies is seeking an experienced Eastern Sales Manager – Municipal to expand our presence in the municipal water market. In this high‑impact role, you’ll lead strategic growth across your region, build relationships with engineers and end users, and manage complex capital equipment projects from proposal through close. We’re looking for someone who thrives on technical selling and relationship building — and who wants to help shape the future of water.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identifies new municipal opportunities in the Eastern region as well as maintain existing customers.
  • Manages achievement of annual sales targets and project margins.
  • Understands bidding processes for end users and general contractors.
  • Develops a thorough understanding of Wigen’s products to be able to discuss credibly with engineers and potential customers.
  • Prepares proposals, including working with engineering to price capital equipment to respond to RFPs and bids.
  • Reviews project T&Cs and works with legal and accounting to ensure contracts meet company requirements.
  • Develop relationships with design engineers, external sales reps, vendor partners and end users to find opportunities and get Wigen equipment specified for projects.
  • Identifies opportunities for rental of mobile systems in municipal markets.
  • Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs, price schedules, and discount rates.
  • Outlines, presents, and sells the value of how our products and services can benefit the customer’s needs.
  • Represents company at tradeshows to promote products and offerings.
  • Delivers sales presentations to key clients directly and in coordination with external sales representatives.
  • Actively participates in negotiating and closing deals.
  • Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition.
  • Effectively manages time and budget or expense parameters.
  • Participates in visits to plants, engineering offices to promote our products and identify opportunities and develop networks.
  • Works with other departments in the company to handover orders for engineering and production.
  • Post customer sale, assists with receipt of payment from customer invoices until customer pays in full, as needed.
  • Post customer sale, works with customer to address and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Post customer sale, works with other departments to address customer alleged deficiencies.
  • Post customer sale, monitors and presents possible update opportunities to customer.

  • Ability to travel (up to 50%)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from four‑year college or university; or ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience selling membrane, filtration equipment is preferred.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to write presentation and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or customers/contractors.
  • Very good written skills for preparation of proposals and other sales documents.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
  • Located in the Eastern United States

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to stand and walk.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
