Job summary

Fire Manufacturing Innovations in Manitoba is seeking an Industrial & Sales Engineer to evaluate customer requirements, support sales and estimating activities, and develop manufacturing standards to improve quality and delivery performance.

You will lead lean initiatives, perform line balancing and capacity analysis, conduct value stream mapping, and collaborate with Design Engineering to enhance manufacturability and reduce costs in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Requires Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of manufacturing/industrial engineering/technical sales/process improvement experience preferred.
• Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience preferred.
• Experience with automation, robotics, or manufacturing process optimization preferred.
• Experience supporting quoting, estimating, or customer-facing technical activities preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required.
• Experience with ERP systems preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing-related industries is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support Sales and Customer Account Specialists during discussions and project development.
• Review customer specifications and assist with developing technical solutions aligned with FMI capabilities.
• Assist with estimating labor requirements, materials, and project costs.
• Provide technical support throughout quoting and order reviews.
• Identify standardization opportunities to improve competitiveness and profitability.
• Develop labor standards, routings, and work instructions for manufacturing operations.
• Analyze processes to improve productivity, safety, and quality.
• Perform line balancing and capacity analysis.
• Lead Lean continuous improvement initiatives and value stream mapping.
• Develop KPIs and measurement systems for operational excellence.
• Analyze production data to identify cost reduction and throughput improvements.
• Evaluate capital equipment investments through ROI analysis.
• Improve manufacturability via collaboration with Design Engineering.
• Work with production to eliminate recurring issues.
• Develop fixtures, tooling, and process improvements.
