Packaging Corporation of America is seeking a Health and Safety Specialist for the Gladstone, VA facility. You will develop and implement accident prevention programs, conduct site safety audits, and drive OSHA/compliance initiatives across multiple plants.

The role involves leading safety committees, delivering trainings, coordinating incident investigations, and maintaining records to support a strong safety culture at PCA. EMT certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, environmental engineering, occupational health and safety, or a related field.
• 2 years’ experience in the safety field preferred; manufacturing experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of safety compliance software and Microsoft Office.
• Familiar with calibration of safety equipment (noise meters, light meters, anemometer).
• Knowledge of OSHA standards, EPA regulations and industrial hygiene practices.
• Strong communication skills with all levels in the company.
• Certified EMT would be a plus.

Responsabilités

• Participate in the mill-wide safety committee and Emergency Response team.
• Develop, update, and deliver safety training programs across facilities.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and related safety laws.
• Work with the Site Worker Compensation Administrator on claims.
• Identify hazards and implement corrective measures.
• Lead incident investigations and audits of safety practices.
• Prepare reports and maintain records on safety activities.
• Support Emergency Operations Team training and equipment needs.
• Implement hazardous waste control and disposal programs.
