Job summary

Americold is seeking a qualified refrigeration maintenance technician for our Gadsden, AL warehouse. You will perform routine maintenance, repair, and adjustment of refrigeration systems, ensuring safe operation and reliable performance.

Responsibilities include monitoring system performance, replacing components, testing and calibrating equipment, and maintaining preventive maintenance records in line with OSHA standards and site procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of industrial refrigeration maintenance experience OR 3 years industrial maintenance experience with relevant certification.
• Completion of assigned industrial refrigeration and maintenance courses.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair differing control systems including ALTA and Allen Bradley.
• Hazmat training and certification required.

Responsibilities

• Operate, repair, and adjust refrigeration systems throughout the warehouse.
• Monitor performance and identify when systems are not functioning properly.
• Replace components following lockout/tagout and standards.
• Perform basic pump out and evacuate refrigerant as needed.
• Conduct routine maintenance on warehouse equipment per OSHA standards.
• Test, calibrate, and evaluate equipment; inspect work for safety and specs.
• Inspect completed work for compliance with blueprints and safety standards.
• Maintain preventive maintenance records and keep work areas organized.
• Work flexible shifts, including on-call.
